In December of 1947, plans were drawn up for
the erection of a new roller skating rink on
approximately 3 acres of land north of Fort Wayne. The Roller
Dome was founded by Joseph I. and James E. Wall.
The office, snack bar, coat room and skate rental are found
upon entering the building. The skating floor is 70
by 150 foot. The building was completed and ready to open
on November 10th, 1950. The Roller
Dome floor, which is constructed of modern laminated Maple, can
accommodate 400 to 450 skaters.
Jim and Margorie Wall operated the business until his death in
1992. The family continues to carry on the business of roller
skating, honoring the same principles of good conduct and fun. |
